Ed Buffman is a multiple award winning director/cinematographer with a great range of project experience.  Throughout his career he has directed and shot numerous television commercials, corporate films, documentary and music productions, infomercials, live sports programs, live television events as well as web and multi-media presentations. The range of this work includes humorous and dramatic action and dialogue, documentary style, and table top photography. Ed is very comfortable with both actors and real people and is an innovative production problem solver. His experience includes working in 35mm and 16mm film, Arri Alexa, Red One and Epic, Cannon 5D/7D/1Dc, Cannon C300/500, Sony FS 700/F-3/5/55 as well as stereoscopic (3D) camera systems. His thorough understanding of the complexities of post production provides the needed expertise for marrying live action with special effects. His work is marked with beautiful light and composition.

My Experience

1998 to Present: Freelance Director/Cinematographer. Projects include television commercials, corporate films, documentary and music productions, live sports programs, live television events and multi-media presentations. Experience includes working with standard and hand held film and video cameras, 35mm and 16mm film cameras, HD & SD 24p video, Red and Phantom HD cameras, stereoscopic(3D) camera systems, camera cars, cranes, tabletop camera rigs.

1994 to 1998: Director/Cinematographer and principal in 2 Rivers Productions, Haverford, PA. Work included television commercials, infomercials and corporate films.

1990 to 1994: Freelance Director/Cinematographer and principal in Ed Buffman Productions, Newtown Square, PA. Work included television commercials and corporate films.

1985 to 1990: Director/Cinematographer for SBK Pictures, Ardmore, PA. Work included television commercials and corporate films.

1980 to 1985: Director/Cinematographer for Century III Teleproductions,  Boston, MA. Work included television commercials, corporate films and video game production.

1972 to 1980: Freelance Cinematographer, Camera operator, Steadicam operator for various production companies on the east coast. Work included television commercials, corporate films, soap operas, feature films.

Infomercials: “Milkcal, Milk Calcium,” a studio type of show that features two on camera people, interviews and an audience.

“Historic Landmarks for Living”. This 30 minute show explains the benefits of ownership in a Historic Landmark building. It features two on camera spokes people, beautiful life style footage, and testimonials from clients. The show is aimed at first time buyers and has an upbeat, energetic pace.

“Liquid Bullet,” a show about self defense pepper spray. It has interviews and crime scene reenactments.
